Indian Reverse Painting on Glass
Indian reverse glass painting of a maharajah with beard and mustache wearing a turban, jewelry and beads. The faded red painted frame is original. Painting on glass was introduced into India in the 18th century by itinerant Chinese artists and was generally a middle class art form. There are four similar paintings available in the same size frames.
