American Inlaid Document Box

American rectangular highly decorative document box inlaid with mahogany and bird’s eye maple on all sides, the inlay is in a diamond pattern of contrasting colors bordered by a thin border of a checkered pattern and the outer border of mahogany. The top is hinged and opens to reveal an interior of bird’s eye maple. The brass bail shaped handle is an old replacement.
