Antique Swedish Gustavian Jardiniere, Circa 1800

Antique Swedish Gustavian vase-shaped jardiniere with large swan neck handles. The top edge is carved with a border of gilded acanthus leaves, above a silvered body, above vertically carved and gilded rows of acanthus leaves, ending with boldly carved silvered paw feet.  The elegantly carved gilded handles are in the shape of swan’s heads and necks.  The whole mounted on a plinth base. There is a small brass insert for a plant.
