"Brighton Bun" Travel Candlesticks
These are ingenious treen traveling candlesticks that consist of two drip pan bases that screw together to form a bun. When ready for use and unscrewed, the two halves reveal two loose candle cups inside. The candle cups screw on and form two chamber candlesticks. These sticks are made of olive wood. Because of their resemblance to the English pastry at the time of their invention, they received the name Brighton Bun. They were used from the mid 1700’s mostly by the English military on their many campaigns and even by Americans during the Civil War and also by European royalty.
