Chinese Cloisonne Frog, Circa 1880

A whimsical Chinese cloisonne colorful enamel frog on a removable ebonized wooden stand decorated with more frogs, tadpoles, creatures of the sea, shells and sea plants in red, blue, yellow, bright green, white and lavender on a dark green ground.  The lid, in the shape of a lily pad with a gilded frog finial, when removed reveals the inside of the frog and the lid to be a turquoise blue enamel.
