English Antique Brass "Ace of Diamonds" Candlesticks, A Pair
Antique pair of brass “Ace of Diamonds” candlesticks featuring a multi-faceted diamond-shaped knop or bulge in the center of the column with several turnings, mounted on an octagonal base. These were designed to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897. On the bottom is a push-up mechanism to eject the spent candle wax. The bottom outside rim is stamped “The Ace of Diamonds.” The series was manufactured by James Clews & Sons, Birmingham, England. The Ace was the largest of the series.
