Fine George III Mahogany Library Secretaire Bookcase, 18th Century
The classical arch-molded cornice with central carved wheat sheath flanked by satinwood shell inlay at the corners, above two astragal-glazed doors opening to reveal three adjustable shelves, the lower section with a false fronted secretaire drawer fitted with satinwood veneered pigeon holes, drawers and inset brown gilt-tooled leather writing surface, above three long graduated drawers with unusual replaced, but old, gilded brasses, raised on splayed bracket feet.
