French Louis XVI Mahogany Bureau Plat, Circa 1790

Louis XVI period mahogany and ormolu mounted bureau plat with dark green gilt-tooled leather writing surface, top with molded edge and protruding corners, each side is fitted with a pull-out leather-lined writing slide, the center frieze drawer flanked by two drawers on one side and on the opposing side, a fitted drawer with removable compartmented tray and a locking compartment with sliding cover, raised on fluted tapering legs mounted with gilt brass swags of feigned drapery and sabots on casters.
