George III Mahogany Spider Leg Table
George III mahogany spider leg drop-leaf rectangular top table with small frieze drawer, supported by the swing-out gate legs to support the drop leaves. The exceptionally slender and straight “spider” legs are joined by delicate stretchers. This table is the epitome of elegance. The legs end in pad feet. Originally designed by Thomas Chippendale (1718-1779), probably the greatest cabinetmaker of all time.
