Victorian Gilded Lion Ornament, Circa 1880

Wonderful gilded bronze lion ornament mounted on a oval pine block with two gilded bronze rope twists surrounding it.  Remnants of the original red silk still remain.  Originally affixed to the backs of the chairs in the House of Lords.
