Indian Rajasthani Miniature Painting of a Royal Elephant

Traditional Rajasthani miniature painting of a blue royal elephant decorated with gold jewelry ornaments on his head, ears, ankles and tusks, the red saddlecloth is likely silk with the Maharajah’s head featured on it and tigers attacking antelopes. Atop his head is a golden peacock. It is painted on a silk fabric. The elephant is walking on a grass surface featured with small flowers enclosed within a black border with a single layer of gilded flowers. The frame is carved and gilded.
