Irish Mahogany Carved Stool, Circa 1790

Irish mahogany stool boldly carved with flower and foliate swags on the apron, the cabriole leg knees are  carved with C-scrolls and foliage and end in ball and claw feet.  There are recessed casters in the feet.  The hinged top opens to a small storage space and is upholstered in an unusual pinkish-red Moroco leather top surrounded by brass nail heads.
