English Pair Regency Period Rosewood Bookcases, Circa 1820

Boldly figured rosewood open bookcases with rosewood cross-banding and satinwood edging around the top, the tiered top shelf with brass pierced gallery on three sides and turned brass column supports above mirrored back panels, two adjustable shelves, gilded brass decorative mounts, parcel gilding on the molding above the plinth base.  The rosewood is beautifully faded with exceptional patina.  The original mercury glass panels show some deterioration, but this is consistent with age and use.
