Pair Staffordshire Separate Leg King Charles Spaniels
Antique pair of orange and white Staffordshire King Charles spaniels with separated legs, gold collar, gold chain and locket. (Victorian symbol of loyalty or mourning) They depict the small, long-eared toy spaniels associated with royalty—especially King Charles II, who famously adored the breed. These figures were produced mainly in the mid-1800s in the Staffordshire region of England, a major center for ceramic production. Individually separated legs give a more three-dimensional sculptural look and are more carefully crafted than the solid ceramic ones.
