“Les Champignons Comestibles et Les Especes Veneneuses.” Mushrooms drawn from nature by Fritz Leuba. Chromolithographs by H.Furrer, published Neuchatel, 1890. Leuba was a mycologist. Mycology is the study of fungi, including their genetic and biochemical properties, their taxonomy and their use to humans as a source for tinder, medicine, food, as well as their dangers, such as poisoning or infection. Hand-painted double-mount. Handmade creased silk frame with 22 carat gold leaf sight edge.
