Sheraton Boston Mahogany Inlaid Card Table

Federal Sheraton mahogany inlaid card table of elegant proportions with hinged flip top, serpentine front and outset corners. The flame figured center oval is framed in a carefully mitered cross banded panel of birchwood veneers and Casuarina wood banding around the edges. The flame satinwood or birch veneer flows in uninterrupted continuity on the front, corners and sides. One gate leg on the rear swings open to support the top. The slender tapered finely reeded legs have ringed terminals and end in bulbous feet. Attributed to John and Thomas Seymour, Boston, Massachusetts. This table excels in its craftsmanship and design.
