Victorian Artist's Paint Box
A Victorian mahogany paint box given as a science and art prize to William Kay, May 1889. The box contains the twelve original water colors still intact with cut glass water bowl, brushes, three round porcelain dishes and white three-part porcelain mixing dish. The tray containing the colors lifts out to reveal the three mixing dishes below. The oblong mixing dish is marked underneath: Geo. Rowney & Co London. It also contains the original Ordering List of available water colors from Geo. Rowney. It also has its original key.
