Walnut and Brass Inlaid Jewelrey Box, Circa 1850

Victorian octagonal-shaped burr walnut, ebonized and brass inlaid jewelry box, the top inlaid with a brass shield and sprays of leaves on an ebony background, the top border set with brass inlaid leafy stems, the sides with walnut panels inlaid with brass and ebony stringing, the hinged top opens to reveal the original blue buttoned padded lining.  Retains the original tiny key.
